WHERE ARE THEY NOW: MICHAEL NOURI (EX-STEVE; SEARCH FOR TOMORROW)

Walt Disney Pictures were wasting no time in rolling down the red carpet for a world premiere gala of their upcoming romantic comedy, The Proposal. On Monday, June 1, weeks away from the theatrical release, the mouse house made use of the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California to hold the first screening event for the movie.

Two of the leading actors for the movie, Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, were present on the special night. While Sandra was spotted arriving solo, Ryan went to the premiere accompanied by his mother. The two were later joined by their co-stars, Betty White, Oscar Nunez, Craig T. Nelson, Malin Akerman, Michael Nouri and Mini Anden.

Entire article, here.

Michael Nouri made his daytime debut as Tom on Somerset in 1974 (he was replaced by Ted Danson). A year later, he assumed the role of Steve on Search for Tomorrow.

Ted schemed with Kate (played by Tina Sloan, now Lillian on GL) to help her get an abortion and tell husband Julian (Joel Crothers, later Miles on The Edge of Night) that she'd had miscarriage -- because she was so stressed Julian might be cheating on her with his true love, Eve (Bibi Besch, later the mother of Star Trek's Kirk's only son, David; well, in the original universe, anyway)! Julian eventually ended up beating the living daylights out of Tom and learning the true story.

SFT's Steve was a much nicer fellow. He fell for the lovely Liza (Meg Bennett; pictured above) and dreamed of making it big as a songwriter. The future was looking bright when real-life singer Melissa Manchester showed up in Henderson to offer Steve a spot in her band, but then Steve tragically contracted leukemia and died. (The good news was that in order to get funding for Steve's rock opera, Liza had to turn to Travis Sentell, who went on to become her next husband. Until he died.)

The role of Steve earned Nouri an Outstanding Lead Actor nomination at the 3rd Annual Daytime Emmys in 1976. Co-star Larry Haines (Stu; Steve's grandfather-in-law) took home the trophy.
